First Blog Post

Hi world! Happy new year! It feels good to finally be writing in my own blog. Something that belongs to me in this little corner of the internet. I’m excited to start writing about all my travels, share current fashion trends I’m loving, beauty products and anything else that pulls at my heart strings. As I’ve just moved down to California from Vancouver, Canada, I feel like this new blogging adventure came at a good time. I’m hoping to connect with as many people as possible through this blog.

I thought I could introduce myself a bit.

My name is Vanessa Carreira and I’m 27. I was born in Portugal and moved to Vancouver with my family when I was about 2. As most of my family was back in Europe, we made sure to visit whenever we could.

I went to Portuguese school and spoke Portuguese at home so that I’d never lose it. Growing up bilingual in a country that is so multicultural wasn’t a big deal. It did however help me land the job I had always wanted a shot at.

For a brief year and a half I worked as a flight attendant for Air Canada and it was one of the most incredible experiences. Travel has always been a big part of my life and I hope it always will be.

Along with travel, I always had music in my life. I found that being a part of any choir was not just fun but necessary. One random summer I decided to try out for The Voice Portugal and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. Yes it was terrifying singing in front of I don’t know how many people on TV, but it was such an unreal experience. Meeting artists you’ve loved for so long and having one of them as your mentor!? It was so much fun and so great to meet others who also share the same passion.

Sports were always a part of my upbringing. In high school I played volleyball, soccer and basketball. Honestly, volleyball was the best part of any day. I have definitely lost a bit of it at the moment so I’m eager to get back into playing sports again. Once in a while I’ll play with whoever I can, but I must admit that I do miss the competitive years.

What’s really important to me are my family and friends. I have an amazing support system no matter what I do. As you can tell, I have so many different passions in this world and I have the will to give almost anything a try. Because of all these passions, I probably give the people in my life whiplash from everything I want to do! But through it all, I know they’re there for me and all my crazy ideas and adventures.

With this blog I hope to inspire whoever it is that is reading. Whether I inspire someone to travel somewhere I’ve been or to step outside of their comfort zone and try something new. Please don’t hesitate to comment down below even if it’s just to say hello!

I hope you all enjoyed the holidays with your loved ones! Happy 2018.
