POLIEGOS – KLEFTIKO, SAILING EXCURSION AROUND MILOS

POLIEGOS – KLEFTIKO, SAILING EXCURSION AROUND MILOS

We knew we wanted to spend a full day out at sea. There were quite a few spots in the south of the island that we wanted to see and sailing around in a catamaran sounded like an awesome adventure. Some of the beaches weren’t accessible any other way than by boat, so we ended up booking with Milos Adventures. It was one of the most incredible experiences and definitely the highlight of Milos for me and Marco.

Itinerary

  • Poliegos island
  • Firligos beach
  • Gerakas also called “Ammotsoulithres”
  • Exploring the numerous sea caves of the old pirate bay Kleftiko
  • Sail by the west coast of the island (Sykia, Agios Ioannis, Triades, Agatha and Cape Vani)
  • Sail by Arkoudes (complex of lava rocks), Skinopi, Klima, Areti and Fourkovouni (colourful little
  • houses called “Sirmata”

OUR STORY

OUR STORY

Since my husband Marco and I celebrate our 2 year wedding anniversary tomorrow, I thought this would be a great time to sit down and write a blog post on our story and how everything started.
On occasion, I get people asking me how we met and how we made long distance work. It’s a story I’ll always keep close to my heart, and because it’s lengthy, I usually rush through it and never do it justice. So here’s my attempt to document it in a way that I can come back to every once in a while to get all the feels. First, a little back story on how we met in the homeland and where our story began.

PENA PALACE, SINTRA – DAY TRIP FROM LISBON

People are always asking me what they need to see in Portugal when they visit for a couple of days. There is way too much to see in a short amount of time, so I always find it hard to answer that question. But if you’re staying in Lisbon for 4 or 5 days, there are some day trips you can take that are worth the visit. Sintra is one of them!

Since I was pressed for time, I could only stop by one of the many beautiful spots in Sintra. Because of how magical the palace looked, I decided to see Pena Palace and I’m so glad I did!

Are you planning a trip up the Northern Coast of California from San Fransisco? Or do you just want to get away with your friends or a loved one for the weekend?

BLOGIVERSARY: LOOKING BACK AT 2018

BLOGIVERSARY: LOOKING BACK AT 2018

Because of the New Year and because it’s already been a whole year since I started my blog, I thought I’d recap a bit and share my thoughts and personal feelings with you. I’m thinking back to January 6th 2018, which was the day I launched my blog and my Instagram account for nessacarreira. 262 Instagram pictures and 22 blog posts later, I’m reflecting on my year and want to be real and tell you how I’ve been and why I took such a long break from social media near the end of 2018.

SUSTAINABLE & UNIQUE JEWELRY MADE OF BUFFALO HORNS

SUSTAINABLE & UNIQUE JEWELRY MADE OF BUFFALO HORNS

Lately I’ve really been thinking about the fashion brands I support and whether or not their values align with mine. I want to do my part and start taking simple steps to help make a positive change in the fashion industry.

I’ve decided to start a new series on the blog where every now and then I introduce a new sustainable fashion brand that goes along with my beliefs.
